  • Feedback and reviews: Ratings, written reviews, and platform feedback you submit.

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and actions taken on the Platform.
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, and IP address.
  • Session data: Login times, session duration, and authentication events.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Verify your identity as required by our KYC process
  • Facilitate matches between buyers and carriers
  • Process payments and manage escrow
  • Enable communication between users
  • Resolve disputes and investigate fraud
  • Improve the Platform and develop new features
  • Send important service notifications and updates
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Identity Verification (KYC)

To ensure the safety of our community, we require identity verification before users can transact. KYC documents you submit:

  • Are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage
  • Are reviewed only by authorised BringIt administrators
  • Are never shared with other users or third parties except as required by law
  • Are retained for a minimum of 5 years to comply with anti-money laundering regulations

5. Carrier Aliases

To protect carrier privacy, carriers are identified by a randomly assigned alias visible to buyers. Full legal names are not displayed publicly. Aliases are used in listings, matches, and reviews. Your real name is only used for KYC verification and is never shown to other users.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Stripe: For payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.
  • Supabase: Our cloud database and authentication provider. Data is stored on servers in regions compliant with relevant data protection standards.
  • Law enforcement: If required by a valid legal process, court order, or to prevent fraud or harm.
  • Other users: Only the minimum information necessary for a transaction (alias, trip dates, item details).

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables, and access controls to protect your personal data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide our services:

  • Account data: Retained for the lifetime of your account plus 2 years after deletion.
  • Transaction records: Retained for 7 years for financial compliance purposes.
  • KYC documents: Retained for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Messages: Retained for 2 years after the associated transaction is completed.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.

BringIt is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will terminate it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
