Terms of Service

Last updated: February 19, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BringIt ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform. BringIt is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects buyers in Trinidad & Tobago with travelers returning from the United States to facilitate the transport of personal purchases.

2. Eligibility

To use BringIt, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a resident of Trinidad & Tobago or a traveler returning to Trinidad & Tobago
  • Complete identity verification (KYC) before transacting on the Platform
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration

3. The BringIt Model

BringIt operates on a "Model A" basis: the buyer owns the purchased item. Travelers act as carriers, not personal shoppers. Specifically:

  • Buyers purchase items from US retailers and ship them to the carrier's US address.
  • Carriers transport the items in their personal luggage on their return trip to Trinidad.
  • Final-mile delivery in Trinidad is handled via TT Post.
  • BringIt facilitates the match, payment, and communication between buyers and carriers.

4. Customs & Legal Compliance

Users are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws, including Trinidad & Tobago customs regulations, airline baggage policies, and import/export regulations. By using BringIt, you agree to:

  • Declare all goods honestly to customs authorities upon entry into Trinidad & Tobago.
  • Not transport prohibited or restricted items (weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, hazardous materials, etc.).
  • Comply with the Trinidad & Tobago Customs Act and all related regulations.
  • Acknowledge that all items are personal effects of the buyer being carried as a personal favour by the carrier.

BringIt is not responsible for customs seizures, fines, or penalties incurred by any party. Users accept all legal risk associated with their transactions.

5. Transaction Limits

The following limits apply to all transactions on the Platform:

  • Maximum item value: USD $1,500 per item
  • Maximum combined value per trip: USD $3,000

6. Platform Fees

BringIt charges a per-transaction platform fee based on the declared item value:

Item Value (USD)Platform Fee
$0 – $50$5 flat
$51 – $1508%
$151 – $5006%
$501 – $1,0005%
$1,001+4%

Fees are non-refundable except in cases of platform error.

7. Escrow & Payments

All payments are processed through Stripe and held in escrow until delivery is confirmed. Escrow is released under the following conditions:

  • The buyer confirms delivery of their item.
  • 14 days elapse after TT Post shipping confirmation with no dispute raised.
  • A dispute is resolved in favour of the carrier.

8. Disputes

In the event of a dispute, users should first attempt to resolve the matter through the BringIt messaging system. If no resolution is reached, BringIt may facilitate mediation. BringIt's decision in any dispute is final. BringIt is not liable for lost, damaged, or delayed items beyond the escrow amount.

9. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:

  • Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
  • Transport prohibited or restricted goods
  • Provide false information during registration or transactions
  • Harass, threaten, or defraud other users
  • Circumvent the Platform's payment or escrow systems
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse policies

10. Account Suspension & Termination

BringIt reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or poses a risk to the community — with or without prior notice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BringIt and its officers, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to lost items, customs seizures, missed flights, or financial loss.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Trinidad & Tobago. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Trinidad & Tobago.

13. Changes to Terms

BringIt may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

14. Contact

For questions about these Terms, please contact us through the feedback section within the Platform.
